16 tons

You (un)load 16 tons, and what do you get? Three dry tenders and black, dirty sweat. Well, not actually 16 tons, but a pretty good pile left in each of them. The bucket loader is pressed into service today to carry the coal that remained in the detached tenders back over to the coal pile. Other than that, not much to be seen. I still expect that, one of these days, we'll see #488 come over to take the hospital train to Antonito. Haven't heard anything about the Cumbres trestle repair progress, but it can't belong now until snow will start piling at that elevation.

I'm hoping the Hospital Train runs this weekend because I'll be in the area for work. But, I'm not holding my breath...

Right now the bucket loader is nosed up the tender furthest from the camera. I see the tender rocking so must be the guys inside shoveling.
