Second day in a row... wonder what's going on. Inspection trip? 489 spent some time down by the wye before leaving, but they didn't turn it.

Bob,
Thanks for catching this. I saw something going on down at the wye earlier but was away and wondered what was going on.

Ah, well, it was Larry Gibson's catch. I was watching pretty much the same times but haven't been inclined to do screen captures, knowing that other folks are on the job.

Was 489 the one with piston ring problems? The other thought that occurs to me is that they're watching the repairs (thus the running backwards) in preparation for the weekend's triple header.

Thanks! While I was looking in some other interesting things were going on too. The front end loader made a couple of trips over to the coal dock and brought a scoop of coal over to each loco waiting outside the Enginehouse. It appeared that a pickup truck backed up to the caboose and several things were put on board from the bed. The smoke was heavy as it passed the tipple put there was a good sized object in the rider gon up by the tender end. Just got a glimpse of it. Looked like one man riding in the gon and two on rear caboose platform. Smoke was really hanging low....almost a smoke screen as it pulled out. Larry
