A Note from the Moderator

Just a quick note: I see a lot of the same posters here on the camera forum that aren't yet members of the Friends. Some of you have tried to register for the Forum, apparently not seeing or ignoring the notices that you must be a member to have an account.

*If you have registered for an account and you are a member-in-good-standing and didn't hear back from me about your account, please let me know. Mistakes occasionally happen.

Please consider joining the Friends. Not only will this get you full rights to the Forum, but you'll be helping to preserve the railroad that you obviously care about. Membership also gets you a quarterly newsletter loaded with information that Rich Murray works VERY hard to produce. It's very likely that there will be additional perks in the future related to the cameras.

$30 per year buys you a lot. Please join us.

:proceed:

Right on Jason.
You have put it very nicely.
I hope some of our non members will help defray the costs of our web cameras by donating to the tip jar.
It would be even better if they become members and support our efforts to sustain the RR.

Hi Jason:

How long will the cameras be down this time? Thanks for any info you can provide.

I wish I knew.

Steve will be on site tomorrow for an assessment. I'll know more then.

The plan is to repair the busted cable during Work Session F (Aug 4-8).

It's now the 10th & still no webcams, I presume the fix is going to be more work than first thought.

I honestly didn't realize how much I needed those cams in my life until they went dark.

"Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
Till it's gone" (Joni Mitchell)

Providing this wonderful pleasure for us isn't just long hours and hard work. A bunch of money is being spent on replacement "hardware" so we can press a button and see a living museum from anywhere.

I wish I go there and help with my own hands. I guess the next best thing is to send the "Friends" a little money to help offset the expense. I urge anybody who might also feel inclined to do that to go with their inclination.

Peace, Love, and Friends,

JS

Don't feel bad about not coming out, most of us at one time or another had to sit out a couple of years because 'life' gets in the way of our hobby. Sending what you can IS doing your part, many do nothing other than consume the work of others.
