In the program, First Train to Toltec, had a rotary snow plow clearing the snow off the main (this was the first two weeks of March 1997) and a rock slide had blocked the main. A work train was dispatched from Chama with an end loader. The end loader cleared the slide and the work crew repaired the ties and one of the rails. After the repairs, the locomotive was used to "blast" through the smaller drifts and the pilot truck derailed due to the excessive snow buildup. Make one appreciate all of the hard work that has to be done to keep the C&T operating.
