Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part but it sounds good and I think it's been worked on recently.

No. 15 outside yesterday, then pushed back in with backhoe yesterday afternoon. Back out in front of roundhouse again today. Wonder if work space needed for other work in the roundhouse?

I'm assuming you are talking about #15 as the pineapple should be in Antonito. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, you are correct that it should be #15. Suppose it should be called "Ashby" rather than pineapple :-)

I take the blame - I started this out calling it the Pineapple! My bad. It does seem like the need room inside for something - they pulled it out even today in the snow.

I like the idea of calling #15 the "Ashby."

I was excited to see my first winter action in the yard, I suppose the chances of turning on from the other side of the world at the right time are slim but I hit the jackpot this morning (afternoon to you guys). The diesel shunted what looked like a flanger from beside the roundhouse down to the middle of the yard, a couple of caboose's (cabeese?) had to be moved as well so there was a bit of action, which leads me to a couple of questions:-
a) What did they move and why.
b) I noticed about 6 fella's on the ground (a couple with shovels) while this was happening, were they CATS personnel or do you get rail fans at Chama in the dead of winter.
c) Are there 2 pineapples on CATS now, #15 and #16, when did they second one arrive.
d) I bet a fire in the cosy workshop was a welcome retreat after trudging around in 30°snow.

Time for me to have breakfast.

I can't answer all of your questions. But, yes there are 2 "Pineapples." #19 has been there for decades. #15 is being leased from the Ashby family. It was at the Georgetown Loop when that family ran the operation and has been at the Colorado Railroad Museum since 2007.

The term "Pineapple" stems from the fact that both locomotives came from the Oahu Railway and Land Company on Hawaii.
