Heading to Antonito for winter hibernation.

Man, what a job. Can you imagine "having" to take 315 across the railroad?! Just a couple of guys and a C18 on a crisp fall day in the mountains.

Roughly 18 years to retirement... and I'm counting the days...

It's a shame (well for us railfans at least) they didn't have other rolling stock to go to Antonito and make a train of it with some willing observers in a caboose or two.
Does it snow down in Antonito.

I guess it does snow there!! I missed why the 315 is wintering in Antonito - I thought it spent winters in the SN engine house?

I don't think the reason why has been published, just the offer and acceptance. Probably has to do with the 2014 season on the C&TS. Maybe some specials will be forth coming.
