484 progress?

Unread postby Edwin Frey » Fri Aug 09, 2013 7:28 am

I noticed this morning that the flat car which was loaded with parts from #484 was pulled out a bit farther from the engine house. The view had been blocked by the light pole for quite a while, and while it was visible, it appeared to be almost empty. (It has been pushed back to where it was earlier.) Does this mean that the reassembly process is coming along well and that we might see her online before the season is out? :smiley16: Also, nice to see lots of sunshine this morning!

Hi Edwin, when I was there last week one of the shop guys pointed to a pile of parts on a flat car just north of the engine house. He said it used to be covered with parts for the 484, now there is just a few dozen or so pieces left, so it is getting close. The 84 loaned the 89 it's trailing truck while the 89 is getting it's own repaired, so it shouldn't be very long.
