June 26 Doubleheader?

Unread postby Larry Sullivan » Wed Jun 26, 2013 8:53 am

Just happened to turn on the cameras this morning at about 10 minutes to departure time and looks like a doubleheader today. Are the caterpillars still the reason for it?

Yes, they went out at 10:09 as a doubleheader... 489 as the helper, 488 as the road engine. I thought the caterpillar issue was pretty well past, but they did add an extra coach today and perhaps that necessitated the extra power. The train looked to be pretty well filled... great to see!

I'm not sure what the rules are here on posting Youtube links and such of others videos so I won't post the link, but I found a very interesting video on the caterpillars there -- just search YouTube for Caterpillars on the Cumbres & Toltec --and if it's wrong to put stuff like that on this forum someone let me know.

As a general rule, you shouldn't post material that isn't yours. But, YouTube videos are allowed here. Roger posts his all the time.

Furry rails! Very surreal. I'm glad "typebangin" didn't record an "after" shot.

be well,
