#15 now active

As soon as the morning's train departed, #15 pulled away form the engine house and is now "trundling about". Good to see it in action.

A good day's work

#15 did a good job today doing just what it was intended to do.... shuffled cars around and spared the K's some mundane switching duties. Toward the end of the day, it made up the "Thomas" train (five cars, two of which came over from Antonito this afternoon) and pushed it down to the depot. Now it's resting back at the engine house. All things considered, I think #15 will prove to be a great asset.

I suspect part of the task was looking for problems to get the locomotive up to snuff. It looked like they were having some difficulty with coupling and other related functions. It was fun watching 15 get out of the way of the "CO NM Express", which turned out to be running a bit late, but with a few extra cars. Then, later, 487 (I think -- the one with the rather brutal looking snow-plow) spend most of the evening re-arranging the freight cars in the yard. At one point, it looked to have nearly every car in the yard tied on. Back and forth. Great entertainment. Time to add a few more dollars to the tip jar, I think.

I've not seen #15 for a few weeks.
Anyone know where it's hiding?

Ditto. Inquiring minds want to know!

(I've notice "Thomas the Tank" engine parked on the south side of the engine house, showing through the open doors -- the bright blue is hard to miss. I'd nominate that has 15's lurking place.)
