#15 moved

Unread postby Ed from Loveland » Mon Jun 10, 2013 8:43 am

This morning, shortly after 8:00, #488 retrieved the diesel from its location by the sand box to the left stall of the engine house. Perhaps we'll soon see it puttering around in the yard doing some of the chores that the K's, the bucket loader, and the backhoe have been performing. May be the motive power for the "Thomas" trains?

Hmmm Wasn't '84 being worked on in that east bay? Is it getting close to ready for prime time? :?:

Word is that she is getting wired together, but I'm not sure with what purpose (other than as a switcher perhaps). The power for thomas is not a bad guess though.

And as you can see by the pictures she is sharing a stall with the 484. There hasn't been any work to speak of done to the 484 in some time though. As you can see the boiler jacketing is only partially installed and it is completely sans cab.

The 463 is sporting some new accessories, and her tender lettering has been removed, so maybe she will see some movie action sometime soon.

PS I know one of those is in there twice somehow, but the forum shows it as an attachment only once, so I don't know how to remove it. I apologize.

Thank you Evan. I know that the tender had to have the lettering removed but Jake did such a great job hand lettering it, that it's a shame it had to be removed.

Thanks Evan. I hope you're enjoying your summer.

If things get tough out there, just remember those of us that are sitting trapped behind desks all day.

Looks like they got old #15, Little Big Foot, started. It began by smoking almost as badly as a steam engine. Yesterday, was that a tow truck parked in front of the engine house?

be well,

Thanks for the 484 photos Evan. The last time I saw the cab sitting on the ground was quite a while back and Bob Tully had Marshall Smith welding on new side panels below the windows, and I was on the roof welding 20+ holes closed that were no longer needed. That and some bodywork and new wood interior by our wood shop crew and it was good to go again.
