Mic. noise

Why is is that in the morning, everything is very clear and audible? The north camera picks up the noise first, and then the south after an hour or so. Like the mic. gets warm or something.

Hi Bill -

I assume you are speaking of the air fan noise. It's been noted in a couple of other posts that this is the internal cooling fans inside the camera housing. I've noticed as well that it's the North camera that starts the fan first, my guess is maybe a little more sun on this camera in the morning, and it usually starts once the outside temps get in the 60 degree range. Eventually as noted in an earlier post there is a plan to put in external microphones, but until then we enjoy the video and will put up with the mild annoyance of the fans! I just wish they would time themselves around the departure and arrival of the train!
