North camera

Unread postby Wayne Hoskin » Fri May 31, 2013 5:14 pm

Is the north camera down, "server can't be found" message, or is it a problem at my end? It's a damn shame as I watching engine movements after today's run and I can't see that end of the yard.

Both are working for me.

Is anyone else having this issue?

I noticed yesterday (Thursday) and Friday afternoons that the North camera was going in and out of the server not found message. The outages seemed to only last a minute or two, and never affected the South camera.

Correction to what I said, it was the South camera (that looks at the engine house, etc) that was giving me the server not found message, North camera looking at the water tank end of the yard was fine. Sorry for my error!

It happens occasionally, and not just with the north camera. It usually resolves itself (wait, reload). Demand related?

be well,

I get that message a few times a day, but I just refresh (F5 0n IE9) and it goes away.

Thanks guys. We're aware of the issues and have notified the company that re-broadcasts the stream for us.

I stay pretty much glued to the cameras during the day (I work on the computer most of the day), and the message was intermittent on both cameras both days. Also, the both cameras have an intermittent compressed air/vacuum noise, that seems to be in only one camera at a time. Is this a camera/microphone sound thing, or possibly an intermittent problem with the sand house?

-Very- grateful for the cameras, and the effort involved.

The sound is unlikely coming from the sand house. While the equipment is operable, it is not in use. The building stores bagged sand, which is loaded by hand onto the engines.

The sound is the internal cooling fan. It's going to be a periodic annoyance until we get an external mic added. I do not know when that will happen. Maybe this summer, maybe this fall... maybe next year.
