For those of us who couldn't be there for the Friends charter, the webcams have at least let us share in the flurry of activity in Chama following it's arrival. Fortunately, I was able to catch both #487 and #463 with the train as they came into the yards. Yesterday saw a lot of switching with #489, including bringing #463 down to roost in front of the roundhouse and making up Saturday's train set. This morning, there are four locomotives in view: #''s 488 and 489 out in front of the engine house, #487 parked in stall #1 inside but visible, and #463 still sitting where it was placed yesterday. Additionally, members of "The Friends" can be seen scurrying about doing their respective chores, like replacing deck boards on the depot platform, repairing one of the rider gons, and working on a landscape project. I'm sure there are more off-camera jobs being done as well. Just sayin', thanks to the webcams, it's almost like being there. Thanks again to all who have made the cams happen!
