489 is coaling up

Unread postby Edwin Frey » Thu Nov 13, 2014 11:00 am

The diesel has pulled #489 with tender from the engine house and the bucket loader has been bringing coal to fill the tender. Perhaps it will be fired up for a hospital train? Stay tuned!

Now everything is quiet, no signs of steam or smoke.

Just before 3:00 local time a shopman came over to the far tender from the camera stoop down on the left front corner and then went under. Hard to define in the close up.

I must have checked right after you Larry - saw someone take something from that tender -- a shovel perhaps, and go over to 463 with it. Couldn't watch any longer, but definitely took something to 463. Guess we'll see something under steam next week, unless they work tomorrow - which they haven't worked Friday's the last couple weeks.
