Watched them haul out three hoppers of ballast - looked up again - snow! Does it usually snow this time of year in Chama?

It can snow now. Yesterday was nice however.

If it keeps snowing and stays cold tonight, tomorrow could be a great day for photos

Snow in October isn't uncommon, but it doesn't usually linger.

Kinda looks like an early Christmas card. I can imagine that there's a bit more up at the pass. Just a subtle reminder that there are only ten days left in the regular operating season, I'm going to miss daily routines.

Very nice! I had watched the train depart with the 3 hoppers full earlier today, and thought I saw a couple flakes of snow in with the rain, looks like the snow won out! Wouldn't mind a bit of that cool air coming to Florida!
