Where are the passenger cars?

Unread postby Quentin Lockwood » Wed Aug 17, 2022 6:44 pm

It's 9:45 pm on the East Coast and I wonder where the passenger cars can be. 484 was in the yard earlier then went to the house. Is there a special train tonight? Is there a problem?

My first thought was that the cars were still being turned at the Y after a late arrival

I watched the situation in a reduced window while doing other things and the AOC train had not arrived by 8pm, 10pm in Florida when I retired, but they were in place the next morning. Later I learned there had been an issue with a journal on the engine. I hope it was not a driving axle as those are hard and expensive to fix. The bus that would have taken folks back to Antonito, left Chama about 5:30 so I assume the passengers were bussed from the train.
