9/3/18 Monday Labor Day 2 morning trains

Morning preparations: Looks like we are going to have a special train today there is a locomotive already out getting ready.

Now what??? My thoughts on this, the hostlers were told to ready 488 for a special freight today and thinking that like past specials it would leave about an hour ahead of the 216. Well they went out and got it ready and parked it on the south yard lead, oops, we don't need it until later so how about taking it back to the house and park it there until needed.

Departure of train 216 and special freight: The special pulled out of south yard and to the tank where the 488 filled up and they waited for 216 to get far enough ahead.

Train 216 is now in loading position, it is also fouling the south yard lead so maybe this freight is leaving after 216

The 488 just blew its warning whistle so it is headed out closely behind 216.

The parlor on 216 is past the tipple as the 488 comes by the depot

The parlor is passing the tank as the freight continues to come out

The last cars of 216 are rounding the curve as the caboose of the special passes the depot
