Several times during tourist season, viewers have spotted some of the wildlife making the Chama railroad yard their home. You may recall the young deer that rested in the late afternoon just East of the Tipple. Now that these critters can roam freely, it is not unusual to see crows, roadrunners, and more deer. Despite the title, this video was made Friday to record the change in color and shadows of the depot area as the sun rises. The appearance of the crow and roadrunner is a bonus. The video was recorded at 1080pHD, thus is successfully viewed big screen at the YouTube site.

Hint:
The crow appeaars when the video starts, and the roadrunner makes it appearance at the 9 second mark.

The activity for today, so far, is track maintenance. A crew is working again on the house lead switch which was damaged early in October when it was left open to the round house lead and several locomotives went over it coming out from the house.

I am going to be out of town tomorrow through Friday afternoon so will not be recording the yard to catch any activity. If anyone catches something please post. Still no sign of a hospital train, but never know when one will run. 19 is still parked at Cumbres Pass and a closer inspection shows it to probably have a flat car attached to it.

Some days I wake up on the wrong side of the railroad yard. This must be one of them. The video recorded November 1, 2017.
