A Nice Colorado Side Trip: Alpine Tunnel Historic Site

Unread postby Larry Gibson » Fri May 22, 2015 6:49 pm

Many know the story of the narrow gauge DSP&P legendary Alpine Tunnel route over the Continental Divide now long abandoned.

In Late September 2014, on a glorious fall day, my son and I made the trek up the old grade to see the site for the 3rd time in 25 years. A must for those who have never been and If you have gone, go again....well worth one of your Colorado Days. We had a great day before heading down to Chama in the evening. Much more to see on the way up and out. Won't spoil it all here. Been meaning to report for some time.
