FYI: D&S visible on Durango Herald Cam

Unread postby Larry Gibson » Sat Jul 04, 2015 7:49 pm

Posting this as a matter of information / education concerning viewing the D&S Narrow Gauge RR in real time.

The Durango Herald has a cam located about 5 minutes by train north of the depot. Use the departure and arrival times as an estimate and observe. No sound so not much warning before train comes into view.

No intention to capture this on a regular basis, but as I was here -- video the 8am departure today on the Durango & Silverton from that webcam.

That is some nasty lens curvature. I believe that the road actually bends in the other direction of how it appears in that view.
