Last nght I was switching channels and came across the Gun Slingers episode on AHC thatwas about a sheriff of Deadwood, SD back in the long ago. At one point he has not been
re-elected and is on a train going somewhere.
Then the outside view is shown, and lo and behold, the train is a standard C&TS consist being
pulled by the mudhen. A distant and more closeup view is seen, and then the "sheriff" gets
off the train. No station sign is seen, but it is CHAMA, and then to prove it, one scene shows
a gray object in the background, obviously the rotary plow that sits across from the depot.
As soon as the forms come out, I'm going to sign up for host/docent duty from 7/6-7/20 and
my son is bringing my #1 great-grandson out for a ride on 7/13. Time to vaccinate the next
generation with the railfan bug, preferably the 3 ft. one.
