Go Get'em FIDO....A Web Announcement for Team Leaders
Posted: Mon Feb 25, 2013 8:15 am
With the release of FIDO in 2012 the Projects Committee moved into the 21st Century. FIDO stands for Friends Intergraded Data Online which is a suite of program modules specifically designed for the Projects Committee (PC) by former Board member and FIDO Project Director Phil McDonald, assisted by Jim Hickman and Brad Simpson.
The 2013 Project Work Plan & Schedule was released in January; Phil has been busy since readying the Team Leader module. On March 5th Team Leaders (TL) will receive an e-mail welcoming them and establishing a temporary log-in on the FIDO system. In order for the TL to gain access to FIDO and the appropriate forms an established log-in will be required. The Team Leader module contains simple forms for data collection that do not require mailing to the office. The FIDO experience will provide a quick and easy access to project forms. You must have web access to reach the FIDO Web Site where information is stored for projects. The forms are similar to those used in the past years and are simple to complete. Making a copy for your record is also a simple task done directly from your computer. Each TL must provide the specific information necessary for their project(s). The TL can at any time return to the Web and review previously posted forms to make changes or additions for project updates as necessary. This will help the PC better provide tools and materials necessary to accomplish projects during specific work sessions.
PLEASE NOTE: Team Leader printed forms as in the past are no longer available. All project information is now being maintained in the FIDO database on line. Completion of the project forms on the FIDO web site is the only method available to record their project information.
Computerizing this data will greatly reduce the load of tedious paperwork for the PC and the Friends in general. It will result in faster and more accurate data collection. Hundreds of hours of work went into the development of FIDO. Thanks to the Project Director, Phil McDonald, the Friends will have a program that is usable for years to come for which we are extremely grateful.
Watch for more FIDO announcements coming in the future. Thank you.
