Thanks to the outstanding efforts of our web cam team, the Chama Web Cameras are now LIVE! They became operational for the public this afternoon. Click on web cams in the masthead of the Forum.

This really is exciting!
However, I'm still testing and tweaking, so there may be the occasional glitch. Please be patient.

Thanks Jason! This will be a great feature for Friends Members and the general public being able to view the Chama Yard. Good work.

Be sure to check out the views at night. While there is no color and you can't see everything, what you can see is amazing! Great job guys!

What hath God wrought!
Imagine live video being sent by devices employing binary on-off signalling, like the telegraph of 1844.
This is amazing. Thanks to all. It is good!
Regards,
Greg

It gets even better, Greg. Those binary bits are being magically beamed between RF antennas across the yard and parking lot.
I've been in the IT industry for more than 16 years and this project was the most fun I've ever had.

Web Cameras Schedule Suggestion!

With the 'regular' season over, I have a suggestion. A couple of years ago my wife and I visited the Horseshoe Curve. When we arrived there was a stack of paper setting on the counter in the little museum there. On the paper was the 'schedule' of expected trains for the day showing possible consists and approx times. Since 'most' of us are so remote how about posting a 'possible' timetable of activities coming up. If there is a charter show the approx dates and times, etc,. Just a thought cause watching the cams is really a pleasure but seeing moving trains is even better!

Thanks Russ. This is on my to-do list.
Posting a timetable is easy. But, I won't know about special moves (like tonight and last night). So, I'll need people in-the-know to update me so I can update the page.

What ever you do will be greatly appreciated. I realize that maintaining ad hoc moves would be almost impossible but for things like the charters or the hospital train move might be good posts. Thanks again for all you do. Russ
