Web Cams Coming Soon!

Unread postby Tim Tennant » Mon Oct 01, 2012 11:28 am

The Friends of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of two web cams that are located in the Chama Yard. We anticipate that this will be a popular feature for both our membership as well as the general public. Below are a few clips recorded from Saturday September 29th. The cameras are not ready for public use, but we are working as quickly as possible to smooth out any kinks. Our goal is to have the cameras ready for public viewing before the end of the operating season. A number of anonymous donors and a dedicated group of Friends volunteers made this whole project possible.

We would like to thank the crew consisting of; John Engs, Team Leader, Joe Kanocz, Bob McCain, Jason Rose and Marshall Smith for their efforts involved in installation of the camera system. Good job!

Thanks to all who made installing live cameras on the tipple possible!

When sound comes online it will almost like being there.!!

The sample video is outstanding too. Nice to see a Goose on the loose in the yard.

Learned something new and a question: Does a pop car follow all helpers returning light to Chama from Cumbres?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I would bet that the fire patrol followed the train up to Cumbres as that is the stretch of track that fires are most likely and because there has been sufficient rainfall, the patrol turned at Cumbres as opposed to following the train to Osier.

Nice. This will be great to watch. Is there any coincidence in the video length and an engine in Silverton?
