C & T's New Assistent General Manager Trainee

Unread postby Steve Hughes » Fri Dec 09, 2016 7:38 am

Congrats to the Cumbres & Toltec on the addition to Stathi Pappas to their staff. It has been my privilege as a volunteer at both the Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad & the Northwest Railroad Museum, to work under Stathi's direction. I have learned so much while working with him & greatly admire his passion for, & skills at maintaining & restoring steam locomotives. He personally acquired & restored a derelict 0-2-0 Porter, the Santa Cruz & Portland Cement #2, known as the Chiggen. For the past two years, he has allowed the NWRM to use his personal locomotive, & for a brief period, the excitement of a steam train returned to the Snoqualmie Valley. I know C&T will appreciate his efforts to maintain our treasured narrow gauge railroad.

This is indeed good news. Happy to hear it!

I'm sure you meant 0-6-0, but the mental image of an 0-2-0 is quite humorous.

Jason Rose - The Chiggen is actually a 0-4-0. I flunked my high school typing class & in English I was never a very good proof reader.
