Fall is Around the Corner-Work Session G is Coming

Fall is Around the Corner – Session G is your Last Chance for 2013

As the summer comes to a close and kids are back to school suddenly you realize that the summer has gone by and you have lost an opportunity to attend a work session and ride on the C&TS. Well here is a solution to your quandary, come to work session G, September 30th through October 4th in Antonito and take a train ride during the fall colors.
What a way to make up for that missed summer experience.

The Project committee has put together several special projects for this session and needs your assistance to put on the finishing touches. Here is a glimpse at what is being offered:

• 1206 - Installation of posts for historical markers at Osier yard facilities
• 1003 - Cook Car 053 restoration completion of interior trim and painting
• 1080 - Stock Car 5995 restoration completion of doors and exterior grab irons
• 732 - Display Engine 494 lettering after a complete paint job in 2013
• 1162 - Drop Bottom Gon 783 continue the complete rebuild
• 1099 - Car Storage Facility (CSF) continue with steel framing for gable ends
• 1099 - CSF complete electrical work from CRF panel
• 1197 - Passenger Truck construction continue with part preparation
• 1209 - Pole Lighting standards cut to length, weld and prepare for painting
• Several support projects are available:

231 - Food Preparation; 701 - Landscaping; 262 - Chronicling

The PC has put a terrific number of projects on the table for session G, there is a project virtually for everyone. Come and join us and experience the excitement of a fall session and camaraderie at the last work session of this year. Please register before the deadline, September 13, 2013, as it is important we know the projects that can be supported. NOTE: The Narrow Gauge Railroad Inn, next to the CRF, is totally booked through October 1st due to a railroad charter. Please refer to the list of Lodgings in Antonito, Form R-9, located on the Friends website for other Antonito housing locations. A number of motel chains are located in Alamosa, 27 miles to the north.
