The administrators of the Friends of the Cumbres & Toltec web-forum have relaxed their previous position of allowing only members to join and post freely. We’re taking a slightly different approach and would like to encourage more public participation in creating an environment that is focused on the rich history of the Cumbres & Toltec and the Denver & Rio Grande (Western). Our emphasis, of course, will still be centered on the activities of the Friend’s organization as we work to preserve the remnants of the D&RGW for future generations. As part of that preservation, we want to build a repository of historic data, photos, videos, and especially stories and first-hand accounts covering the full history of this remarkable railroad. We need your help to accomplish this.
Our goal is not to detract from any other forum, but to have a place on the internet devoted solely to the Rio Grande narrow gauge empire and its remnants.
Members of the Friends will continue to have access to sub-forums that are hidden from the general public as a perk of membership. These special features will increase over time and we encourage everyone to join; not only for the perks, but to help us in our mission.
