"New" signage on oil-loading facility

Unread postby Paul Davenport » Tue Jul 11, 2017 6:59 pm

A recreation of one of two types of historic safety/no smoking/danger signs that the Friends sign crew installed on the oil loading facility in the Chama Yard during C work session in June after a crew member spent many hours fabricating and painting the signs before going to Chama. This one is one of two we installed on the facility's north end. John Cole's crew(s) did a great job restoring the structure and its equipment in recent years and the sign crew was happy to do its part this year. We had help from people who shared photos from decades past to help our research last winter and from Doug Frederick, who provided measurements and photos of old signage that was incomplete and worse for wear.

My experience is that the Forum seems to want to display vertical photos horizontally. Oh well.

Paul,

Clicking on the image loads it vertically. And the sign looks great - you folks did a fine job!

Greg,
Thanks for the tip on loading the photo vertically.
All of the crew had a hand in research, fabrication and-or installation, but Terry Woolsey painted it. I am regularly impressed by his knowledge and expertise.
