Status of 488 for 2016?

Does anyone know anything about the status of 488 this season?

I'm about a 5th hand information source, but, I was told that if the other locomotives behave this season, 488 could be out by the end of the season. Just depends if they have enough time to work on it.

Do you know what kind of work is being done on it?

Well from what I know it is getting a 1472 complete boiler inspection and all new boiler tubes and flues. From the photos all of the running gear is getting gone through as well, pretty much a complete rebuild overall. They have had some guys out last winter so that slowed things up quite a bit, but there are 4 hot engines right now so they should be OK.

I don't go in the engine house, so as not to be a pest. But I drive by the south side quite frequently, and I'll post pics of major developments I see when it's outside.
