Flat Car 1515 in Chama for rebuild 6/2016

Idler flat 1515 is undergoing complete rebuilding. The 3 left side sills were done first to have a pattern for the other 3 sills. The end sills were fabricated in 2015 for this job. When the sills and brake appliances are done, new wood decking will be installed. A rail will be reinstalled on each side of the car to act as car stiffeners. Idler flats were used between loaded gondolas of pipe. Those pipes were ofter longer than the gondolas, hence the need for an idler flat.
