Besides the work on cars and in the yard, crews went out and repaired some bad boards on the Chama river bridge and treated the wood.

The Friends also worked on replacing some bad boards in the walk around the depot.

I was one of the crew that replaced the railing, some railing posts, and some of the walkway boards quite a number of years ago. It is nice to see how much has survived from our work back then.
The upper railing boards were supposed to be 14' in length however 16' boards were sent. Instead of cutting and losing the extra length, we staggered the boards when we doubled them up. This made a much stronger railing than having all the joints line up at a post or bridge column.
