Let's start in Antonito:
- Compressing the springs for the new passenger trucks for RPO 053
- Springs are in place!
- Some adjustments with the pry bar
- The crew hopes to have both trucks under RPO 053 by Session G!
Chris and Randy are working on the latest GRAMPS car
New boxes were created several of the water tank springs.
While waiting for the well box parts, the team rebuilt the walkway to the C&TS Commissioners Office
In Chama, there was lots of action:
- The morning train passes the skeleton of the P-Box conversion
- Newly repainted caboose 0503 was getting new lettering.
High Side Gondola 1204 was stripped down to the trucks in Session C and rebuilding began with end sills and beams:
A new side door was built and installed on Box Car 3686, the Friends Paint Car
Mechanical and brake work was performed, both in the shop and under the cars:
High Side Gondola 1000, the historic first of the series, was stripped of all wood and metal parts were saved:
Markus Hagemann, our German craftsman, created beautiful mortise and tenon joints for Idler Flat 6746, totally by hand.
