Thanks goes to Mike for this update.

Special thanks to Ed Lowrance for hosting this interview.

The Friends of the C&T plan to use 463 for a special pre-season excursion on May 15. This will be the inaugural run.

I have known Mike Thode for about a dozen years and he is a great guy. His uncle was Jackson, (Jack) Thode who worked for the Rio Grande. I believe Jack sponsored a railfan trip or two back in the day and he may have authored a book or two as well.

Jack Thode wrote "A Century of Passenger Trains" some years ago. It was published by the Rocky Mountain Railroad Club. Copies show up every now and then. He updated that book with "A Century of Passenger Trains and Then Some" a few years ago. This, I think, was published by the Colorado Railroad Museum. The
more recent version is fairly easy to find.

Thanks Chris, Mike had mentioned a couple of books, but I didn't remember their names. I talked to Mike on the phone today and he said that things are really starting to come together and it is getting exciting watching the headway. Mike built the ash pan himself, so I am sure he is looking forward to seeing his 'baby' put to use.
