Here are some pics from Cumbres
A section of the back wall of the section house is being replaced
Interior walls were the same tongue and groove used on railroad cars
Stairs going up
NW corner view upstairs
View of the sill. The car inspector's house has a railroad tie foundation

Great photos Joe, thanks for going up the hill to take and post them. It is SURE a different view of the interior with doors open and exterior walls removed. It is blacker than the inside of a cow when I would walk inside with everything boarded up. Did you go upstairs?

Seeing the inside of the CIH is very high on my bucket list. I'm writing a fictional story about a family that lived there around the turn of the century.
Thanks Joe!!

It will sure be nice when it is finished Jason. Just walking around that house in the darkness and trying not to trip on stacks of building materials is quite a chore right now.

Yes, one of the pics is looking upstairs. It's a bit darker however it's looking NW upstairs. Bob says roof is a 12/12 pitch
Now is when it would be helpful for anyone to donate towards the car inspector's house. As work continues, there will be rough electric work needed for lights. Why not rough plumbing too? Section house at Osier is fully liveable.

While having lights in the building is not 'technically historic'. It is absolutely necessary if visitors are going to visit the building and not only see what the inside looks like, but not to have any injuries caused by not seeing any hazards to avoid.

Jason, here's something interesting. The lady who owns Feliciano's pizza in Chama lived at the car inspectors house as a kid. Her family was the last to live up there. Stop by Feliciano's,have some good pizza and you can ask first hand questions to Brenna the owner.

Joe, Carlos Llamas's mom grew up in the section house on Cumbres, (I wonder if they are one and the same person). Carlos was showing her around, and the rest of us were listening to her stories of life up on Cumbres Pass working for the railroad. We need to get a video of that when we have all of the construction stuff out of the interior.

Thanks Joe. I'll put that on my to-do list for whenever I manage to get back up there.

Bob and his team do excellent work and the CIH is going to be great both inside and out!
