Hi Ladies

I feel very guilty sitting at my office desk here in London watching you clearing the grass around the coal tipple. Any chance that you could be provided with a "strimmer" it would make like so much easier

regards

Melanie

L to R is Becky, (who posts all of these great photos) Kathy, (Skip is behind her) and another Becky from Calif. Great crew, they will get a lot done for the R/R.

Melanie, I assume your "strimmer" is a weed wacker out here in the states. Yes the Friends have several of them and many other powered tools to deal with both weeds and brush. Whether they used them is up to the team leader.

Here's a still from Monday and then today -- quite a job the team did, WELL DONE!!! - And we can't forget the previous work session I think it was C or D when they cleaned out the sand pit itself.

I know it's easy to focus on the landscape team here as they are close to the camera and visible, but the amount of work done overall by all the teams this year is amazing. If I get time I'll put together some kind of compilation of work over the various times.

Especially considering how work had to stop at almost 2pm every day because of rain. We really lucked out last week during E with good weather. Now as far a Cumbres Pass, we had HAIL, and then a RAIN STORM on Thursday afternoon. Kinda hard to do roofing in that kind of weather. Roy, Wayne, and Chris lucked out because all of their outside work was finished and they could work inside the section house. NO LEAKS! Hurray!

John makes a good point about the weather being a challenge. The C sign and D tree crews had to cut short work in late June afternoons this year and last because of lightning or heavy rain when working at Los Pinos, Sublette and Cresco. And I could have done without the hail during the drive out of Sublette. Ah yes, summer in the Rockies.
