Discussions regarding the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad's San Juan Extension (the area the C&T operates in today)

Hi Folks
I've seen some photos (can't recall the site) of coal boards being used on the sides of tenders to increase the amount coal carried. Was this a common practice or was it down to individual crews?

On the K-36's this became standard during the D&RGW days and you can also see this practice with the C class, and K-27, 28's. More coal capacity means less stops!
