Chama Viewscape Requirements -- Commission/SHPO

Unread postby Dick Cowles » Wed Nov 23, 2011 10:12 pm

In any discussion of additions or modifications to the Chama Yard there are "viewscape" requirements agreed between the Commission and SHPO back in 1994 that limit what can or cannot be done. I've been able to attach this document to this post by using the jpgs of the three pages. The Forum doesn't accept a pdf version which I also have. The jpgs are hard to read, but the best we can do.

Since this is an important planning document I thought it best to add it to the Forum. This document was instrumental in leading the Friends to plan the RVC toward the North end of the Yard where it does not violate the viewscape specifications. This document is likely to also be important in any evaluations and studies about adding a turntable and roundhouse.

I have fixed it. PDF's are now accepted.

Sorry about that.

As part of testing out the features of the Forum (which is a pretty awesome innovation for the Friends) in this post I've attached the pdf version of the "Viewscape Requirements".

As part of the testing please take a look and send a reply as to whether the pdf version is clearer than the jpeg version I previously posted. Also, how did the pdf version come through -- as an in-line attachment (like the jpegs) or by clicking on a download box that appears below this message? Because there are documents which are seminal (like the Viewscape), but for which we only have hard copy, being able to scan them in as pdfs and make them accessible on the Forum should be a real benefit.
