Discussions regarding the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad

I just read on Trains Magazine Website that the agreement with AHR is to be terminated. They will be done in 6 months.
Al Harper notes, "We must be given the responsibility and authority to do things without constant second guessing and micro-management of an authority or commission. The governmental and political realities of the C&TSR do not lend themselves well for my company to be successful at that railroad."Cumbres & Toltec Scenic operator terminates agreement
Due to Economic Cutbacks, the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off!

Thanks Bryan for posting the letter. I found out about this as I was heading out on vacation on August 30th. There is a Commission Meeting on September 20th and certainly there will be discussion about the path forward. This news did come as a surprise to many. The Commission must now move ahead and chart a course for the future. As things develop we will keep you all informed.
