Last Saturday, we took our son to the Houston Area Live Steamers for his 4th birthday. This was our 3rd visit and as always, HALS is a class act. The staff is friendly and the ride is fantastic. He rode FOUR times before he exhausted himself.
The video was all shot with a GoPro Hero III, mostly hand-held.
If I had room in my days for another hobby, HALS would be at the top of the list.

Jason, That looks like a lot of fun. Was that your son riding in front of you? It's been decades since I've seen any "live steamers" in action, and at the time, no one was making diesels. Were those actual mini-diesels? Rob Brigham
I believe most of the "diesel" locomotives are powered by something akin to a lawnmower engine, but I'm not sure. I've seen propane tanks on a few. Some are battery powered, like a golf cart.
