This layout redefines the term "epic." What these gentleman have accomplished is nothing short of incredible.

This layout is easily one of the best layouts in Houston. If any of y'all come for the NG convention, make sure you stop by! I have had the privilege of running my trains on his layout several times and it easily takes a standard gauge train an hour to two hours to run just one loop. Running a train on the narrow gauge takes longer than that. On another note, if anyone on the forum is coming to the convention, I will be presenting a clinic on GIMP, Saturday morning (Sept 5th). Please feel free to stop by and say hi even if you don't attend the clinic. Thanks, Blake
I hope this gives some sense of the MASSIVE scale of this layout. Words and video simply do not do it justice.

Yup, everything IS bigger in Texas. But, this layout is massive even by Texas standards. Eddie and John are pretty cool guys.
To get back out you have to follow the right train and hope the Dispatcher knows his job.

I'm pretty sure that Ophir Loop has a 4% grade. I tried pulling a 10 car train with a K-27 about a year ago and was only able to pull 5-6 cars up the grade. :) The only way to find your way through Eddie's is a map.... Running a train is a nightmare especially when you are trying to figure out where it comes out on the layout. My girlfriend recently ran a train there and got lost at least 5 times.... Enjoy, Blake

Is she still lost? Do we need to send out a search party?
