Over the years I have been asked numerous times about the Big Horn "Y". We got there early the other day so I did a drone look of the "Y".

Very nice - the tail track is much longer than I would have expected.
Great scenery

Am I guessing correctly that the road to Big Horn should only be attempted with 4 wheel drive and decent ground clearance? I know where it cuts off the road that heads down into the Los Pinos valley and it looks like a fairly steep climb initially.

Yes 4 wheel drive with decent clearance. Lots of spots where it has been washed out. A pretty steep climb early on.

Sharon, I think if you have a car with moderate clearance, you can drive in from the Osier Road as long as it is dry. From there, you need high clearance but not necessarily 4-wheel drive but it would make it easier.

Because of the wash outs this year I suggest 4 wheel drive.

Because of the wash outs it added about 10 minutes to my trip time.
