ED, Great to see the Caboose 0503 receiving the new lettering, and the railroad providing a heated work space. Thanks to all of the stenciling team members for their time and hard work. plus taking time to post the pictures of their effort.

This is great the 0503 is getting attention. Looks like they used the stencil for the 0579 on letter board for the "Denver and Rio Grande Western" lettering. It should be taller letters and cover the length of the letter board--but it is great that it's getting attention and being lettered for the Rio Grande as it should because of it's historic nature.

William, thanks for your input. If you have A, documents that show the correct lettering. B, A source for the proper stencils, The Friends will be happy to use them the next time they work on 0503

Rich,

Well not sure what happened. I had a few friends on the trip and it appears the stenciling on the 0503 was correct. I did provide pictures to those involved with organizing the trip and was very happy to do so. Actually, I worked with a few others to create and donate the numbers that are currently on the 463 so I'm more than willing to put some $$'s up for proper representation of these wonderful historical pieces. From some of the pictures I've seen this train was one of the best photo trains the C&TS has put together in many years! Great work by all involved and Thank You to all involved!!

William, Don Atkinson noticed the small caboose lettering mistake the day they painted it, but there was no time to fix it. Don and Michael Allen came out to Antonito a day early and Repainted over the lettering and re-stenciled the correct size Denver and Rio Grande on the 0503. Howz that for busting your ass getting things right? We owe both of these guys a big thank you! :smiley24:
