Today will see #315 come to Chama, if all goes according to schedule. We'll start the day with a few early sunrise pics on the way to Fosters for breakfast.

Plan for the day will be a chase of 216 to Cumbres -- near live shots of the chase as cell signal allows. Then will wait and see on 315







Looks like 2 trucks are now in Durango for the 315 pickup, loco on one tender on the other I would assume.

The big wheels are meeting in Chama! (Ok - that's some Larry Gibson humor!).

Been a while since anything was sent, not sure if just in dead zone or phone issues, hopefully will continue shortly.

It's a trade off - park close to the tracks and specks, park under the trees by the wood shop and have a longer walk but no specks (if you get there early enough).

Meanwhile in Durango a truck has backed to where something will be loaded - either 315 or the tender. Cam doesn't stay on the shot, but will try to capture it.

Now that you have posted this it made me looked to see if I could find the K-37 493 they moved down from Silverton. I cannot pick it out in the Depot cam. Can anybody spot it down past the roundhouse or otherwise know of its status? The last think I had heard is that it was going to be moved to the Colorado Railroad Museum for restoration - actually referring to the durango post just above this one.

You are all welcome! The basis for this trip in my mind was to come and take part as a looooooong distance member for years in the FOCTS, the DRHS, and the GGHSD.It's been terribly frustrating over the years, living so far away, not being able to help due to distance and numerous issues that crept in over the years.
With that being said, hope to help in some small way with all 3 organizations in town at the same time. It is my hope that reporting the daily operations of the railroad will inspire folks to come out and ride! Also, it can become of historical archive of the current era in 2016. I'm just a point and shoot off the hip fellow with simple equipment so enjoy these days like I am. Make each trip special and find as I have, that each new visit discovers what I haven't seen or thought about before. I'm very thankful be able to return once again. At my age always assume it might be the last so try to enjoy to the max the precious moments on the 64 miles of railroad that is the C&TS! At same time enjoy all the wonderful people in and around the railroad too! LG Gibson 8/22/16
