Doug, that's pretty sweet! Thanks for posting.
If I remember correctly, you're a warm-weather guy as well. Stay warm up there, bud.

Not me.
Western Massachusetts born and raised, and, lots of time in Alaska and upper Canada. I -love- mountains and snowstorms.

Oh, Jason, and I rented the house thru 1/17, so I'll see you guys in the spring.

Doug, I'm glad to hear it you'll be in Chama next year. My team sure appreciated your work prepping the chainsaws so we could get to work right away when the work session started.

Very cool. I hope you have a relaxing, peaceful winter. Please send us some occasional photos. Most of us may never Chama/Cumbres in the snow.

This week, C&T rebuilt the coaling dock, where they load the tenders. In my video above, you can see these guys pass me Westbound, in three trucks, with the timbers and rebar.

Thanks Doug. There was some speculating about that on the web cam site. Now I'm just speculating :) after looking at your photos. It appears that the idea is to prevent the pad from collapsing down to the yard level. The constant pounding from the loader gong back and forth could create that sort of a problem. It also appears that the actual loading will be done from the same spot, behind the original planks.

You may know this, but, the coal pile itself is on a concrete slab. The slab does not extend to the loading point.

Doug thank you for posting this. Finally had the chance to watch it last night. Reminds me a lot of driving in snow up in Mass, and the NH White Mountains -- I'm from the Eastern side of the state - born and raised North of Boston, then living in Plymouth and Cape Cod area before getting sick of cold winters and heading here to Florida. Now I complain about the hot summers!!!

Having just driven that road on October, it's really neat to see the video you made... I shared it from You Tube with some friends who aren't familiar with the territory (giving full credit, of course). Thank you for making and sharing the vid!
Clear board!

Glad everyone likes it! I do hit requests, too. I'm in Chama till spring, with a lot of time on my hands. If anyone needs pictures, or is curious about camera action, PM me! It's nice to be able to drive through the yard several times a day.
