Today is day 4, and the final day of Larry Gibson's trip to the C&TSRR.
Due to work I wasn't able to start early or do the semi-live coverage, but I have an e-mail box full of pics, which are still coming in. Will start posting shortly - taking a break while our doubleheader leaves this morning.
Many of today's pictures will be focused on RGS Galloping Goose #5 which Larry is riding to Osier and back.
Early to the yard this morning.

Do you think he's happy? - Great day for a ride, amazing stuff.
Goose currently at Cumbres sorting more posting to resume momentarily
Also I have several of the small phone videos -- I will post after the pics, but when we talked last night all these videos will be posted in much better resolution after he gets home, and back to normal internet.

Re-boarding after a stop at Cumbres the passengers switch places. Those that were in the back can move to the front.
Looks like this is it for now, as likely signal has been lost. I'm sure we'll have more later this afternoon. Check back later - videos will be posted next.

Short phone videos -- As documented below these seem to work in the forum, but to get the sound you may want to download them.
Check back later for additional photos after the Goose gets back to Cumbres - may be late afternoon if the phone battery dies again! Enjoy!

Great stuff!!! When I rode the Goose on 7/4/12 I was able to remain in the bus section the entire trip to Cumbres and back since most people, for some reason, wanted to stay in the back. It was an amazing ride looking out the front of the vehicle as we went up the pass. Not to steal any of Larry G's work here, I am very proud of this shot of me at Cresco tank on that Goose ride.

Great shot Sharon! I think I can safely speak for Larry G with this - no stealing any thunder, always happy to have others share input and their stories!

Had been away from the computer for a while, but these came in about 30 minutes ago as the Goose was back at Cumbres. Should be in ahead of 215, here very shortly.

It was a mistake uploading that little video file, but forum seems to take it - can anyone actually view it? I can, but I get no sound. Feedback on if you can view it would be appreciated.
Battery is done, we'll get more pics later off his other camera.

Great! Thanks Sharon - much easier to just post it to the forum, if it works, than to go through my smugmug sight. I'll get to reposting all the others this way when I get time.

We may get more pics tonight, but it's dinner time in Chama, and I've given order to go enjoy dinner and not worry about any more pics. (not that I'll be listened to). We've got the whole winter ahead to sort and post stuff.
I'll take a moment to comment on the last 4 days.
This trip almost didn't happen due to some issues at home this year, but all worked out for the best and last week Larry and his boys headed to Chama. None of this posting of images was planned in advance, other than me saying I'm glad to help if needed. What transpired over the last 4 days was documentation of this incredible visit to Chama by long time Friends member Larry Gibson, and his want and willingness to share - not only his trip, but to document for the railroad archives anything he can. His love and passion for this railroad run deep, he can tell his stories if he wants to.
This turned into a major project, and I think the end results will be a fantastic story and memory for the Gibson family, but also for the railroad and potential promotions there is now more material than I ever thought we'd have. (There is much more that hasn't been posted as well).
I sincerely thank Larry Gibson for the privilege of being a minor part of sharing this journey.
As I've been posting to these threads the last several days, I've noticed many members looking, but also several guests. Please consider joining the Friends, come ride this beautiful railroad and see the scenery and learn about the history. If you can, come join a work session next year and help to keep this railroad running. Without the volunteers, without the Friends it would not be able to survive. Come join us!!!!!

Larry S., with you living in Florida and me who only lives 1 hour away from Larry Gibson back here in Michigan, I like many others have truly enjoyed sharing this wonderful venture. I can see some day perhaps in the future that this might be complied in a soft cover booklet, or a documentary DVD. If so, count me in for a purchase! Wishing Larry Gibson and his sons, a safe return home and looking forward again to spending another day with the sister Mudhen with him. Safe travels my friend, you've been blessed with this trip. Thank You!

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who has looked and commented on these threads over the last several days. As Larry said this wasn't really planned but developed in an attempt to use near real time coverage on the ground with the web cams. The only limit has been cell signal strength and iPhone battery life. In the end a powerful tool to showcase the RR at its best.
Secondly,it was fun to give back for the years of excitement and enjoyment it has given 3 generations of my family by sharing our photos and vids. My father brought me here and now my children have brought me. The circle is complete. It's been a thrill for me to see the boys here together for the first time since 1994. Although they have come separately since this made it truly VERY special for them and Dad.
For those who haven't experienced the C&TS RR in person please do so. It is a great place filled with friendly welcoming people. You will want to return.
Tonight for instance the Goose 5 Crew invited us to dinner and their post excursion meeting. We had an absolutely delightful time. Put the Goose on your list too! 7 photo run-bys made it a charter ride at a reasonable price.
Sadly, tomorrow is our last day on "Chama Time" for this trip. As you get up in years you always leave thinking will this be the last time or will there be another? If there isn't another for me it will be the most satisfying of all. It doesn' get any better than this. Perhaps a few more pics tomorrow as we head east. Thanks Larry for making it possible at "Master Control!" Larry G 10/3/15 Chama, NM
