Private property signs

The C work session’s sign maintenance and renewal crew installed the first four “private property” signs at documented historical locations along the line. The signs warned wagon drivers and other travelers on roads that crossed the tracks or otherwise entered the railroad’s right-of-way that they did so at their own risk. The crew installed pairs of signs at locations in the Narrows near MP341 and near Lava near MP291. The team plans to install at least one additional “private property” sign at a location identified near the Big Horn siding. Each sign installed during C work session was positioned to be visible to people on the train and to approaching travelers on the former road at the location. The sign crew gratefully acknowledges the work done by the Lumber and Carpentry Shop crew led by Jim Hickman to fabricate the signs’ wood plates.
