Beautiful painting weather - low winds! Drop Bottom Gondola 769 gets its primer coat while located next to Concession Potty Car 3244. Don and Jill Stewart are shown here.
Concession Potty Car 3244 has the first primer coat. Don Stewart is shown going up the car, and Jill Stewart is in the foreground, along with Judith Rosenberger.
D&RG Boxcar 3166 acquired years ago from an Alamosa scrapper was loaded with junk air ducts. We're loading them in the dumpster on a space available basis after they've been squashed!
Dan Schmidt and Chuck Dueker attach brackets for the girts on the Car Shelter north wall. Two lower girts are installed; this is good progress for a project that was cancelled in early May.
Naomi and Jim Sublette fill their new flower bed with quality soil delivered by an Alamosa nursery. Marshall Smith is helping unload as is one of the volunteers from the asphalt team who've been working to expand the Antonito parking lot. Naomi has carefully selected low water plants and has a great selection ready to be planted later Wednesday.
Russ Hanscom's electric hoist trolley now installed in the container works like a charm. It's useful for moving very heavy truck subassemblies for storage.
These are the plants selected by Naomi Sublette. Now comes the fun of planting! The new flower bed is about the first thing bus passengers will see when they arrive at the Antonito Depot!
Warren Ringer is drilling a carrier iron for a coupler on the new Rider Gondola. He also made one for the Stock Car restoration project headed up by Dan Pyzel.
