Thanks for excepting me to the Forum

I'm a newbie to the group. Let me introduce myself. My name is Mike Vaughn from Lincoln, NE. I'm currently the Vice-President and President Elect for the Model T Ford Club of America. We love to tour in our vintage automobiles. For the last several years I have been bringing small groups of cars on Model T tours in Southern Colorado and Northern New Mexico. I was raised in Pueblo so I'm familiar with the area. In the fall of 2013 three of us had our cars parked at Cumbres when the west bound train arrived. I snapped a great photo of the cars and the train, that photo was just recently made the cover photo for the Vintage Ford Magazine. At the end of September this year, 4 of us drove our Model T's from Pueblo to Chama, spent a day on the train in the parlor car from Chama to Antionito and then returned to Pueblo in our Model T's. 3 full days of 1920's transportation! 474 miles in the Model T's and 64 miles on the train. This was during the peak fall colors and was a trip that I will always remember. After the trip I mailed in my membership to the Friends of the Cumbres & Toltec.

On a side note I was raised in a D&RGW family. My Grandad was an Engineer from the 1940's until the mid 1980's. My Dad was a Brakeman/Conductor from the early 1960's into the mid 1990's. Both of them worked either south or west out of Pueblo. I rode one of the last D&RGW passenger trains through the Royal Gorge in the late 1960's. My Grandad was the Engineer. The Pueblo crews used to run west just to Salida but later the run was extended over Tennessee Pass to Minturn. When the Pueblo crews were in the south pool they originally just went to Trinidad but later were extended to go over La Veta pass to Alamosa. The last several years of my Grandad's career were spent in the Pueblo yard running a switch engine.

Welcome aboard, Mike.

I grabbed this photo in Chama in 2011. Per chance, is that yours?

The F150 is mine.

After looking closer I'm not sure what kind of cars this are. Not Fords.

Welcome also, Mike! If your club ever gets up to Michigan, we had at least 15 Model T's positioned outside our Flushing Depot here on July 20th, and one of our historical society board members owns one. Which I got to ride in the Flushing parade this year. Posted on Facebook, too. Ah shucks! Well, off to my birthday party!
