Hi Blake,
Oddly enough there is a "snow dome" reporting site up on Cumbres Pass. The old wierd-looking antenna-type structure behind the section house was part of an older system used to determine snow depth. There's a new site located farther back in the woods ...to the west of the small pond. We found it one day while scouting out some photo locations. It's all self-contained and automated. Here's the website where you can monitor the data it's logging. I've never tried using it.

Thanks for the link Mike. I found out from Bill Bemis last summer when we worked on the hill that the snow depth unit you mentioned is an abandoned one. Bill had me go to a trail starting at the base of the Cumbres Trestle and follow it west for several hundred yards to find the new snotel site. It looks very much like the photo in your link.
